PLEASE HELP;; EMERGENCY; stuck in the desert with dogs, RV broke down
I'm in Utah, I'm here to help my girlfriend and her wife move to Seattle. Their Radiator just melted a bunch of cables and tubes; we are stuck with three dogs who are going to die in this weather if we don't get some help NOW
I have no idea how much the repairs will be, we're getting it towed right now. Please, if you can afford to help, any amount counts
We're setting up a GoFundMe but for now:
Thank you 💜
Veganism as colonialism
The final nail in the coffin, as a vegan of 7 years, that convinced me veganism is not a universal good, was watching white vegans on the blue hellsite shout at Inuit folks for eating seal.
Not only is it incredibly difficult and ecologically damaging to ship fresh vegetables to the Arctic, but what right does your colonizer ass have to tell someone whose culture has lived in harmony with the land for more than 20 thousand years how they are supposed to eat ethically. And lord help me should I hear another person say that the Inuit should not inhabit their ancestral lands because you feel bad about them eating those adorable sacks of blubber.
Veganism presupposes a flattened concept of food production and relationship to place. It presumes that everyone can and should eat the same way. It lacks any concept of the ecological, of the contingent, of the contextual.
Ecological food cultures must be adapted to place and time, and sometimes that means eating meat.
Dayton shooting, trans death
It breaks my heart to report that the first victim in Dayton was actually the shooter's *brother*, trans man Jordan Cofer: https://splinternews.com/friends-say-that-sibling-murdered-by-dayton-shooter-was-1837035664
