Transit, lack of options, rideshare strike
I live and work in the the northern suburbs of Fort Worth, and there is literally no public transportation available for my needs. The closest bus stop to my house is about as far as my work, it'd be a two and a half hour walk to get between home and work (and I get off at 11 PM…) or a 40 minute bike ride on roads that aren't safe for cyclists. The only taxi company serving my area is based near the airport ~40 min away and is unreliable.
Transit, lack of options, rideshare strike (continued)
I had to work today and don't have anyone I can carpool with. I had no fucking choice but to use a fucking rideshare app. Even though the organized strikes are all several states away it still hurt to have to cross the virtual picket line.
So before you go and start shaming people who still used rideshares today, remember that some of us have no other choice right now.
