I don't know why people seem to believe that liberal cities can't have violent homophobia in them, like back in grade school people called me the f-slur and a classmate got run out of school because they all thought he was gay, and this was in liberal as hell NYC.
And then there was the time one of the teachers got fired because he give a student the wrong e-mail and he outed them because he was pissed about getting in trouble.
(Like I get that obviously growing up in an Episcopal private school might've skewed my views, but still)
And then there's the whole "white trans people are celebrated coming out" thing, which while it is true that white trans people obviously suffer from violent transphobia, the fact remains that those who actually *are* publicly celebrated coming out are still mostly white.
Queer issues, racial issues
Like that one time on Tumblr with those glass medicine devices some black people thought were just weird weed bongs and white people were acting like they were purposely trying to be ableist.
(Like obviously even ignorant ableism is still ableism and harmful, but there is often a thing where black people being ableist are judged far more harshly than white people doing the same thing)
